Hi, I was doing some work trying to make sence out of our family history book written by my great cousin ( can you have one of those?) Murrel Scholl. It was hard to make heads or tails out of it. They all named their kids the same names. So I used the wars they fought in to put it in perpective. Then in my efforts to find any photos of my ancestors I came accross this web site, no photos. It is such a awesome feeling to see all this about my famiy. I just want to thank you. It has changed since the first time I found it so I am printing it up again. E-mailing the web address it to my relitives. If you have any photos I would love for you to E-mail them to me, I would be happy to do the same. I can go as far back as my Great Great Great Grandfather William Milton Scholl and Great Great Grandparents Joseph and Jenny Lee Scholl.Jenny Lee is the daughter of the outlaw James Berry who rode with Sam Bass. Once again thank You so much Anndrea

The origins of my ALEXANDER ANDERSON, b. 1805, somewhere in VA still elude me. He married PATSEY GORDON, daughter of DAVID M. GORDON and BETSEY ROUT in Clark Co. in 1837, and left for MO abt. 1855 or so. He was no relation to the other,
younger ALEXANDER H. ANDERSON who was also in Clark Co at the same time.

Name: Gloria Haggard Bartlett <gloriabartlett@charter.net>

Comments:
I enjoyed working on the "Haggard" genealogy during visits to KY when our son was in Seminary for four years. To walk the land, see the hills along the Kentucky River and know that my ggg-grandfather lived on Otter Creek near Boonesboro made the study of genealogy come alive for a girl from Oregon. In reading the guestbook I noticed a person mention the Golf course and Nathaniel Haggard Home three miles south of Winchester. At the Golf Course there is a grove of trees near the first or second hole where there is a Haggard Cementery with many of Nathaniel Haggard family is buried. A little further down the road is the Providence Church to visit. I'm from the Edmund Haggard line 1725 to 1811 b. Albermarle, VA.;...William B. Haggard. b. 1753 in Albermarle, VA and in the Revolutionary War d. 1852.;..David Haggard b.1798 in Lancaster, KY d. 1865 David was in the War of 1812;.....James Collins Haggard b.1833 in Boonesboro KY d. 1913 in West Concord Minnesota;.....Josiah Collins Haggard b. 1860 Cherry Grove (Goodhue CO) Minnesota d. 1944 North Bend, OR Josiah was a sheep rancher; Claude Collins Haggard b. 1908 Ranfurly Alberta Canada d. 2000 Medford OR; Claude was the father of Gloria, and my brother, Merrill Collins Haggard b.1947 in Medford OR. Many people working on the "Haggard" line don't know about this line being in Alberta Canada from the 1903 to the late 1940's when the last of the 12 children of Josiah and Adella Haggard, that wanted to settled in the USA were able to move down to OR and WA in the 1920's and after World War 11. They were George, Claude, Darrell, Ethel, Stella, and Warren. Josiah's son, Walter lived most of his life in Elk Point, Alberta with his wife Effie Deare. Josiah's daughters, Grace and Mattie lived on the East Coast of the USA in VT and NY. Josiah had a sister, Ida Hober that married and lived in BC, and Alberta the rest of her life. Her family multiplied and many of her relativities are still living in Western Canada. I'm always willing to share my Haggard in KY, Pickell, Johnson in IA, Clodfelter in IA and OR, Bartlett in NH, Iowa, and OR. Other surnames are Smith and LaRue. I welcome your genealogy e-mails. Happy Hunting.....Gloria Bartlett in Oregon.

I am searching for records on my family from my mother's side. My family history that I can trace begins in Winchester, KY. My mother's maiden name is Shirley Jean Scott. She is the daughter of the late Katherine Elizabeth Martin (maiden name Holley). My grandmother Katherine was well known in Winchester. She was called "Cat Tail". She married Howard Julius Martin, who was a truck driver called "Booley". We also have Strodes in our family (Alvin, Callie). My great grandmother's maiden name was Mary Eugene Singleton and she married to become Mary Eugene Holley, everyone called her "Genie". She lived to be 104 years old. Her birth date was July 4. She died in the 70's in Winchester, KY.

My mother has siblings; John Sewell, and three sisters maiden name Scott after their father Roosevelt; Rose, Janie and Mattie (now deceased).

Any help that anyone can offer is greatly appreciated.

My sister, Pat Burke, sent me the information you sent her on the Bybee's background. Thank you so much. My 3rd Great Grandparents were William Bybee (Campbell Co.) & Martha "Patsy Worsham (Amelia Co., VA) We can not find any death records on either of these people. Their daughter, Nancy Bybee married Stepehn Dove. Can't find her death record. Their daughter, my Great Grandmother was Tabitha DOVE who had two children by Joseph Bybee and two by Washington Bybee. She spelled her name Biby. We think Joseph was her cousin who lived next door and that maybe Washington Bybee was really Jennings Washington Bibee, also a cousin. We can not find anything on a Washington Bybee but her cousin Jennings Washington Bybee/Bibee father was Henry Bybee who also lived near. It is like a "Washington Bybee/bibee never lived however, that is the name on my Grandfather's death certificate. My great grandmother spelled her last name as Biby, My grandfather as Bibee and my father as Bybee....So who knows. If you have any suggestions on how we can find any of these people please let me know. Again, thanks so much for the information you sent us. Noellie Bybee Novak bybee4@comcast.net

Nice site. I am looking for geneology information. Unfortunately, at the moment I don't have a surname to go with this lady I am looking for. Her maiden name was Ella Moody from Madison Co. and she ran an antique shop in Winchester. It was apparently in a large home in town. She was aunt of my gg grandfather who raised him after his mother Sarah Belle Moody Watson died.

I will definately return when I have enough information for it to be useful.I think finding her obituary will be very helpful for me.

Thank you kindly,
Kitty

Just researching my Jewel & Amber or Amos ancestors in Clark County, KY in the early 1800's. According to the Kentucky Marriage Records, 1560-1900, my GGGGrandparents, James Jewell & Jane Amber were married in Clark County on March 26, 1818. But I am at a quandry, as I thought her last name was Amos.

I feel very "connected" to Clark County, Kentucky.
My grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Boone was born in Kiddville Precinct in 1860. His father, Isaiah Boone, was born there in 1832. Isaiah's father, the Rev. Thomas Boone, was pastor of the Lulbegrud Baptist Church for about 40 years.
On another side of my family, my gr-gr-gr-grandfather, William Wisdom Oliver, lived there from before 1800 till after 1820. His father-in-law, Leonard Davis, died there in 1817.
Thank you for a very interesting and attractive web site.

You've made a very good start on a web site. I'll bookmark it to come back regularly to see how things grow. Most of my kin were in Montgomery County, but because of the shifting boundaries, they were in both at various times. Do you happen to know in which cemetery in Clark County that Mary "Polly" Nelson might be buried? She died 22 May 1836, and presumably was buried near where she died.
